Who We Are
|
AVI began as a one man operation, from very humble beginnings... 1990 ish - Spreydon, Christchurch, a natural progression from a 10 year old boy who loved to pull apart electronics, splice odds and ends together, gather all of his fathers old speakers from the garage and have a primitive surround sound system in his room in (not as we know them today), to being on call for his Auntie and keeping her TV, VCR and Stereo running. That same Auntie is now AVI's Office Manager! After leaving school without too much idea of what to do in the big wide world, Daniel started electronics industry training in 1997 and was lucky to have his tutor find a job at an Electronics Wholesaler (Radcliffe Electrical). 2004 - the first AV systems by Daniel Reader were completed, 2 years later, and after 8 years of learning from his very experienced and knowledgeable peers, providing technical support and sales in the early days of structured cabling, home theatre, multi-room audio etc, the demand was there... 2006 - AV Installations LTD was established. With only a couple of thousand dollars of holiday pay received after leaving full time employment to his name, Daniel had only one option, make AVI successful...and it seems to have worked. AVI has not just grown to what it is because of the blood, sweet and tears from Daniel and his team, but because of the amazing people that backed Daniel and his young company from the start. The electricians, builders, friends and clients that have been our referral base throughout the years are a huge part of our success. Some may remember Daniel in his distinctive first company vehicle, an 86 Hi-Lux widened 100mm each side and running on 35" Wrangler MTR Tyres, no weather was going to stop AVI from getting to a job, or towing the occasional stranded tradesman out of muddy sites! 2012 - AV Installations LTD and Kelly Wood Automation LTD began working closely together and now complete many projects together, providing clients with even more industry expertise with over 85 years of combined experience. After having various types of vehicles it was time to standardize, the first two 2012 Peugeot Partners were purchased, followed a year later was the 2013 Jeep Wrangler, and in 2015 a new 2014 Peugeot Expert and another in 2016. The comfort and economy are beneficial to both staff, clients and the company itself. 2015 - AVI & KW Automation branches into Nelson, and Christchurch begins to expand into a more diverse technical services company with more focus on Access Control and Gate Automation. Present - Now with a team including electricians, audio engineers, AV techs, security techs, and automation engineers, we can combat pretty much any challenge or job that comes our way. We pride ourselves on our workmanship, skills and exceptional customer experience, if your in doubt, try us, you wont be disappointed! Team AV Installations Ltd - Daniel Reader, Judy McIlraith, Jeremy Bateup, Mike Humpfries, Matthew Pearce and Stewart Duncan. |
